Our History

​The very first chapter of Sigma Theta Psi was founded November 13th 1991 by 18 extraordinary women. These women sought to create an increased awareness of multiculturalism at San Jose State University, and established STP on the foundation of honesty, loyalty, respect, leadership, open-mindedness and academic excellence. Today, almost a dozen chapters have been left in their wake, and all of them are still going strong.
